Leona Rouge Solstice Aperitif Hour

We can't think of a better way to mark peak summer than a special gathering inspired by the great Mediterranean practice of leisurely splendor - the aperitivo. This is a release party for an ultra limited-production, fun wine from the creative mind of winemaker Sarah Green: Leona ... Rouge!
Leona Rouge is a chardonnay, it's a pinot, it's a chardonnay rouge, a chardonnay noir, a chilled red, a red-ish white, it's a winemaking reverie, it's a vibe ... Leona Rouge is many things but, chief among them, it's a delicious wine to be served on its own, or as a chilled red, or as a spritz with ice and bubbles...
A white wine made like a red wine, yet also also a red wine made like a white wine . . . it's a delicious, summery enigma, bursting with strawberry and grapefruit rind, with a trace of something like amaro. This wine is inspired by Campari and Aperol, by fantasies of summer spent on a Mediterranean terrazzo, without a care in the world.
